Troy Petchey starred with the ball as Greenwood Park beat Luton Town Indians III’s by six wickets.
The opening bowler took a mighty 4-20 from ten overs, displaying excellent swing and skill, as he ripped through the Luton top order.
Vinil Palai was also in exceptional form, finishing with 2-14 from eight overs in a spell of quality fast bowling,
Shafaat Hussain and Arslan Khan chimed in with the final wickets – with Palai also collecting a valuable run-out – as Park removed their hosts for just 77 in 33.5 overs.
Needing 78 to win, the returning Vishal Pujari got Greenwood off to a flying start, smashing 28 in a 34 run opening partnership with Ed Gray.
Although Gray (5), Rakib Ali (0) and Hussain (3) fell cheaply, Captain Chris Kent once again took his side over the line with a cultured 29* as Park won inside 14 overs.
The victory moves Park up to second in the league, 15 points ahead of Old Cholmeleians II’s who they face next weekend.
It will be a crucial game for both teams as both will not want to lose any further ground to current league leaders Potten End.
