A brilliant bowling display from Greenwood Park ensured them an emphatic seven-wicket home win over Flitwick III’s.
The wickets were well spread amongst Park’s attack, as the hosts blew away their opposition for just 89 in 45.2 overs.
Shafaat Hussain ended with innings best figures of 3-24 from 10 overs, but it was openers Troy Petchey and Ajmal Hussain, accompanied by Arslan Khan, who set the victory up for their side.
Petchey and Hussain bowled in superb partnership, as Flitwick could only score 30-2 off the pairs combined opening 17 overs.
The former eventually finished with an excellent 2-18 from ten, with his new ball partner taking 1-13 from his eight overs.
Arslan Khan then took over and once again demonstrated fantastic control and wicket taking ability.
The right-arm bowler ended his spell with four maidens from 8.2 overs, taking 2-7 in the process.
Azhar Rashid chipped in with 1-10 from six, continuing his good form from last week, as a well-rounded Park attack obliterated the Flitwick batting order.
Chasing a low total, Greenwood got off to a very strong start as Ed Gray and Numan Butt put on 61 for the first wicket.
Butt scored a destructive 37 – Gray contributed eight – and a number of extras, 21 in total, also helped Park towards their target.
There was a small scare for the home side when Butt and Gray fell in consecutive balls, but Captain Chris Kent (13*), Shafaat Husain (11) and then Sam Nash got their team over the line and made it back-to-back wins.
