Greenwood Park fell to their second league defeat of the season after a weather affected game at Letchworth IV’s.
The rain came down heavily in the 21st over as Park were chasing 196 to win, falling short of the required run-rate of 4.14.
Having won the toss, Greenwood elected to bowl on a very wet pitch but it was the hosts who got off to the stronger start.
Letchworth IV’s openers Hughes and Hubbard got to 64-0 off 16 before the first rain delay of the day – enforcing a reduced game of 47 overs a side.
The pair went on to score 87 and 51 respectively but Greenwood managed to regain some control in the second half of the innings.
Shafaat Hussain bowled a superb ten over spell of 2-28 as the visitors eventually managed to restrict Letchworth to 195-6.
After tea, Park set about their chase in quick fashion, with Vishal Pujari batting with great intent opening the innings.
Pujari scored a quick-fire 27 that helped Greenwood reach 61-2 off 16.2 overs.
But as the rain came down heavily at the 20 over mark, Park found themselves just behind the rate.
With no further play possible it was a disappointing way for Greenwood to lose the match after being in a strong position to chase down 195.
