Park Revel In Resounding Away Victory

15th July 2017

Greenwood Park 274-5

Little B.Sahibs* 148-10

An excellent 95* from Ed Gray propelled Greenwood to their first win in three as they closed the gap on the top two.

The opener produced a chanceless knock that helped his side post a huge 274-5 in just in 46 overs, as captain Chris Kent declared.

Rakib Ali supported Gray superbly in the middle overs, pummelling his way to a rapid 60 – including ten fours and one six.

There was also a bludgeoning 37 from Vishal Pujari, who got Park’s innings off to a flyer, scoring his runs in just seven overs before he was bowled.

With the ball, Greenwood struggled early on until Aman Talha, coming on as first change, struck in his first over – knocking the off-stump out the ground.

Talha then struck again in his next over, leaving Little B. Sahibs reeling.

But a resistant 16 overs batting from the hosts saw them reach 128-2 off 31 overs.

With yet another draw looming, Shafaat Hussain and Pujari stepped forward to claim all 30 points for their team.

Hussain took the two key wickets of the set batsman before Pujari removed the tail in quick fashion, the pair both finishing with three wickets.

The result meant Greenwood closed the gap to the promotion places to just 17 points.
