A responsible 33 run partnership between Captain Chris Kent and Sam Nash steered Greenwood Park to a four-wicket victory at Northwood Town II’s.
Park had fallen to 48-3 chasing just 125 before the experienced pair came together and steadied the ship – Kent eventually getting 35 and Nash 30.
There was also a return to form with the ball for Mubarak Zeb who took an outstanding 4-25 off ten overs.
The spinner displayed superb flight and control throughout his spell and was justly rewarded with four crucial wickets.
Once again Greenwood were exceptional with the ball – Shafaat Hussain in particular supporting Zeb with 3-17 off 7.4.
Jimmy Otter also showed his undoubted class behind the stumps – claiming three stunning catches – as Greenwood bowled their opposition out for a second week in a row.
Park struggled early on with the bat before Kent and Nash came together.
Both performed with excellent discipline and maturity as they rebuilt the visitor’s faltering innings.
When Kent fell LBW for 35, Nash then put on another strong partnership of 32 withArslan Khan, taking the game away from the hosts.
But both fell before they could wrap up the game so it was left to Zeb and Otter to take Greenwood over the line and up to fourth in the league.
