Radlett IV’s 353-5 from 49 overs
Greenwood Park 199-10 from 40.4 overs
Greenwood Park fell to a heavy 154 run defeat to an extremely impressive RadlettIV’s side.
The table-toppers were too strong for Park as they posted an almighty 354-5 in 49 overs, before bowling out their visitors for 199 in 40.1.
Despite giving it their best shot, Greenwood were just not on the same level as their opposition, who looked a class above the usual ability on show in Division Eight B.
At the start of play, Captain Chris Kent won the toss and elected to bowl and his decision looked to be vindicated, as Aman Talha and Troy Petchey both struck early.
But when left-handers Nick Fielden and Chris Edler combined they emphatically took the game away from Kent’s team.
Fielden ended on a majestic 140 and Edler a fluid 88, both eventually dismissed by Vishal Pujari.
Although chasing such a daunting total (354), Park got off to a flyer – power hitters Shafaat Hussain (37) and Pujari (16) smashing 50 from five overs.
But the visitors lost wickets at regular intervals, as they looked to meet the required run-rate, and any chance of a win was gone when Park found themselves 115-5 from 20.4 overs.
A resolute 40 from Kashiff Farooq offered some hope of a result for his team but Radlett proved too strong, collecting all 30 points from their fellow title challengers.
